Sonic and Solid Performance teamed up to create the ultimate workspace
Solid Performance and Sonic Tools’ partnership started in 2017. At the time, Solid Performance was looking for a way to not only keep good, usable counterspace in their service bays, but also create an open floor plan that would attract and attain clients. Owner and Lead Technician of Solid Performance, Evan Yarnell, said “The team of Sonic guys that came on site played a huge role to mock-up a layout that suited our needs and unique special constraints. From there, it was easy to pull the trigger.”
WORK EFFICIENT WORK WITH SONIC
Yarnell continued about the difference Sonic has made in the way his team works, “The cleanliness of the work tops and the myriad of organizational improvements in the drawer has been huge. It also eliminated the piece meal look traditionally found when different techs have different toolboxes. The modular nature of the cabinets keeps the ability to reconfigure as needed for shop growth or change of workflow.”
Sonic was able to provide Solid Performance with an array of MSS cabinets and workstations. When referring to the quality of Sonic Tools, Yarnell stated, “Tools are very good, we haven’t broken any. The labeled foam layout is critical, also. When you have a multiuse space, holding everyone accountable to put things back in its’ place is important. You can have the world’s most expensive tools, but if they get lost what’s the point?”
Solid Performance has noticed a difference when working with Sonic versus other companies, “Sonic is more willing to adapt to your business,” adds Yarnell. “The other larger name brand tool companies are very focused on what I call the ‘American Auto Shop’ market. In our case, we only sell and service high-end European bikes and suspension components. Having a company that has detailed Euro-centric tools is a nice change. Lastly, the willingness to have their design staff work with us up front to design a workstation solution that worked for us took a huge load off the amount of time I have available.”

Lastly, one of the most notable differences for Solid Performance was how easy the process of purchasing tools with Sonic has been, “If UPS can come to you, there’s no reason Sonic can’t be your go-to tool solution. We had countless clients comment on how well the shop looks, where they can get the tools, etc. We have even thought about opening up our parts department to sell hand tools to our clients, we like them so much.”
