CAU and Sonic Partnership

Category: News & Resources

California Aeronautical University (CAU) and Sonic Tools announced this week a partnership that provides CAU Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) students with professional, precision-crafted hand tools to use in school and provides Sonic an outlet to positively influence rising aviation maintenance technicians. In addition, each graduate of CAU’s AMT program will receive a personalized 263-piece Sonic toolkit upon graduation valued at $6,000.00.

CAU understands that the integrity of an aviation mechanic’s tools and toolbox, is extremely vital for the prevention of foreign object debris (FOD). Aircraft maintenance professionals must ensure that no tools are left in the aircraft or engine after maintenance is performed. The importance of keeping tools where they need to be is essential for asset and risk management. This is why the partnership between CAU and Sonic tools is an excellent pairing.

“There is nothing more important for an aircraft maintenance technician’s repertoire, than their tools and toolbox,” said Skip DuRand, CAU AMT Director. “The quality of tools and organizational solutions of Sonic Tools is incomparable and our students will be able to learn using the highest quality tools and hit the ground running with a quality toolkit of their own when they enter the workforce.”

With much anticipation, CAU launched its first classes of future AMT technicians on Monday utilizing new Sonic Tools toolkits. Students can earn their Aviation Maintenance Technology Diploma in approximately 17 months with the option of an Associate of Science Degree in just 5 additional months. The courses in our Aviation Maintenance Technology programs are designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel as aircraft mechanics and prepares them to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) exam to become certified Airframe and Power-plant (A&P) Technicians.

“Our organizational solutions are unrivaled, and we know the importance of organization in the aircraft maintenance industry, which makes us a trusted partner for some of the best aviation enterprises in the world.” said Colby McConnell, Founder and President of Sonic Tools. “We created comprehensive solutions with direction from aviation industry experts. Our solutions are perfect for anyone working on any aircraft and are the perfect foundation for every rising and experienced A&P technician to perform efficiently.”
